Donna Kirke

Founder, Speaking and Singing Coach 

Biography

Donna grew up singing in her school choir, local church and even formed her own band at school!

As an adult she started taking lessons with a SLS teacher to strengthen her speaking and singing voice as she had began performing at local open mic nights and was also using her voice a lot in her day to work as a Sales Manager. In 2013 she joined 'Audacious Band' as a backing vocalist and performed most weekends. She appeared on 3 of their albums. This experience led her into teaching as she was asked to mentor the new singers joining the band. She was also asked to help with another local youth worship band 'Say What?' and soon after took a teaching job at Carol Godby's Theatre Workshop. 

Donna now coaches a mixture of beginner and full time professional gigging artists, actors and speakers one to one at her studio in Bolton as Legacy Vocal Coaching. 

​She joined the Institute for Vocal Advancement in July 2016 in order to expand her knowledge and gain a better understanding of the voice. She qualified as a Level 2 instructor in October 2019 and is now working towards her Level 3 certificate. She believes it is the educator's job to stir up passion and excitement in their students and she's ready and willing to do just that! 

Rob Ashton

Biography

Rob is a Professional Voice Coach & Singer with a real passion for what he does. In 2014 he graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BA in Drama. Recently completed his Masters in Music at Salford University. Since obtaining his degree he has gained a vast amount of experience as an actor and singer. He has been involved in professional stage productions at Liverpool Unity Theatre and The Lowry Theatre in Manchester. He began teaching music in 2016 and has been developing techniques for students of all abilities. He teaches modern vocal styles with an emphasis on performing and getting gig ready. He uses a wide range of approaches to suit all voice types but believe in building a healthy, balanced singing voice through regular exercise and practice. 

 Holly Jenkinson

​Guitar and Song Writing Coach  

Biography

​Holly is an enthusiastic and and dedicated guitar and songwriting coach with a passion for music.
She started writing songs soon after learning the guitar and played her first live gig just a year later and this has continued over the last 10 years. Holly has had some brilliant opportunities throughout her time playing music including supporting The Blossoms, appearing on BBC introducing and winning Artist of the Year in Bolton's Unsigned Awards. She started to coach songwriting a few years ago when she joined "Rock it" as a song writing mentor. This inspired her to continue with coaching and to help others develop their skills as songwriters and guitarists.
